What is new in the last 24 hours?

  • The Supreme Court will hear some cases by telephone.

  • The TSA is now screening about 4% of the number of people it did this time last year.

  • South Korea will send a shipment of Covid-19 testing kits to the United States on Tuesday afternoon, an official from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs told CNN on Monday.

What is the same?

  • The pressures of capitalism. The billionaires’ desire to reopen our country to business as usual, as soon as possible, no matter what the human toll is.

  • How quickly oil burns skin when it splatters out of a sizzling pan

  • A cement truck looks like a giant wrapped candy.

What is the hope?

  • The small sweetnesses we extend to each other. The toilet paper drop-offs, the cards, the memes, the check-ins.

  • Anger is a catalyst emotion, and there’s a lot to be angry about right now. There is potential for a new world order. One that prioritizes the dignity of human life. We cannot back off of that.
