What is new in the last 24 hours?
- All bars and restaurants have been ordered to close to the public in Illinois. Ohio, too. Seattle. L.A.
- CDC is now recommending that people wait 8 weeks before they gather in groups of 50 or more.
- More closures of K-12 schools throughout the country, including New York City.

What is the same?
- Dogs bark at waves. Silly dogs.
- Krista Tippett has the most soothing radio voice.
- I am still good at falling asleep before I turn my light off.

What is the hope?
- A wide variety of examples of people coming together. Virtual storytelling gatherings. Family members offering support. Online resources popping up for service industry folks.
- On a national stage, Bernie Sanders advocated for the social supports our society would need to recover from this crisis. He’s been very FDR lately with his fireside chat action.
- At my most wide-eyed Pollyanna moments, I see the possibilities for a better, kinder world that exist on the other side of this crucible. What are all the things we can learn? How can our collective hope drive lasting change?
